When well checks are done yearly;
When every bird is weighed at least once weekly as a "health check";
When everyone cares about the necessary diet, cage size, need for toys and stimulation and cleanliness of their feathered companion;
Then perhaps survival rates will go up, rescue agencies will house only birds who have outlived their "human" caretakers and all birds everywhere will be thankful for their human companions.
