ECHO'S HAVEN SANCTUARY

We are  a self-sustaining  rescue sanctuary, a "forever home" for parrots. Our organization is dedicated to providing a safe, healthy, happy home for unwanted, abused or special needs large birds.

Our mission is to provide a FREE-Flight environment for Macaws to live life as close to their natural world, as possible.

Our major experience is with large Macaws and have had tremendous results with taking in frightened, biters and screamers and transforming them into happy, healthy, well-adjusted birds that have a love of life and enjoy living the life of a bird.

We are dedicated to the premise that birds need to fly, scream and live in flocks. A happy bird lives a long, healthy life.

Fred is a Greenwing that is over 84 years old and Miss Piggy is a 66 year old Red-sided Eclectus hen.  They were pretty old when they came to Echo's Haven, but they have been with us for over 8 years and are still going strong, though Fred is still bald.

Baby came to us plucked, but today is a healthy, fully-feathered girl. She is the sweetest bird I have ever seen. She will go to anyone and loves everyone. It still amazes me that her previous family was terrified of her and kept her locked in a cage, with no human contact for 15 years.

Echo is the Scarlet Macaw that started it all, starting an understanding and love of large Macaws that is the foundation for all the principles of our sanctuary. Today, Echo is 12 years old and still as sweet as she was at six-months old. She taught that gentleness, respect and love are the basis for a long-lasting relationship between bird and human.

The other wonderful birds we have rescued have each taught us many lessons. From Bluebelle, we learned how much it hurt to rescue an abused bird and teach her to trust humans again, only to lose her to a stroke. From Asia, we have learned how territorial a bird can become when it is allowed to become wild. Holly has taught us that there are no limits to how intelligent a bird can be and that birds really DO  have a sense of humor. From the Budgies, we learned that it is better to get bitten by a Macaw than a Budgie! LOL

Every day with these wonderful beings is a gift that we cherish.

We are now in the process of looking for land that is suitable to build a large aviary to house the rescue birds. Your patronage of our shops will allow us to build the aviary much sooner.

Echo's Haven exists solely with the help of you, our visitors, so please support us in any way you can. there are still so many birds that need rescuing.

This site was designed to provide information, resources, enjoyment and the best pet supplies at low prices to you. Enjoy the site and tell your friends.

Papa, our newest member of Echo's Haven

This is a photo of David (Toodaddy) and Bella. They are the heart of Echo's Haven.

Toodaddy is the one that makes sure that Echo's' Haven website runs smoothly and Bella is our Guardian (angel). Here she is very proud of her new pink shoes and golf hat.

This is the newest member of our family. Her name is Cealeach, pronounced Kaylee. She is a Labradoodle.

Cealeach is growing up.

She is now 7 months old:

We love to share everything that we can find about parrots.  There is a rare Parrot Flower that a friend sent us photos of and we have placed it on our site for you to enjoy.
